General
The MAGIC TH2
plus
offers three functions in one sys-
tem: There are two analogue a/b interfaces, one ISDN S
0
and one LAN interface. In this way, the system can be
operated as double hybrid in the POTS, ISDN or IP mode.
Functionality
The MAGIC TH2
plus
has in all three operating modes
the same functions e.g. automatic acceptance of incoming
calls and conference function.
Furthermore, the MAGIC TH2
plus
offers a “Night
Service“ function. If there is e.g. an unstaffed studio,
incoming calls can be forwarded automatically to a pre-
selected number. Another interesting feature is the
“Voice Disguise“. It changes the voice so that it is
impossible to identify the caller. With the integrated
“Black List“ certain callers can be blocked. They will only
hear the busy tone.
The MAGIC TH2
plus
provides two handset/headset
interfaces to assign both callers to separate pretalk lines
or to realize two pretalk locations. The system can be con-
trolled via up to three PCs as well as two MAGIC TH2
plus
Keypads simultaneously.
Digital Signal Processing
Independent of the selected operating mode a digital
Echo Canceller, an Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and
an Expander are available for each caller line. The echo
cancelling window is about 100 ms.
Analogue and digital Audio interfaces
The MAGIC TH2
plus
incorporates two analogue and
two digital Audio interfaces (switchable). The digital
AES3 interface has a sample rate converter for the input
to adjust the Audio clock to the line clock. The analogue
input and output levels can be configured by the soft-
ware.
Besides, on the rear side there are two handset/headset
interfaces and two telephone interfaces in order to con-
nect analogue telephones for Pretalk (only in POTS oper-
ating mode).
System Operation
The complete system can be configured and operated
via the keypad and the graphical display with a resolu-
tion of 160 x 32 pixels. Furthermore, the GPIO interface
with four configurable TTL inputs/outputs and two
relays can also be used for the system operation.

" version of MAGIC TH2
plus
- the so-called
MAGIC TH2
plus
RM - offers a special front keypad with
coloured buttons for PRETALK, HOLD, ON AIR, DROP
and CALL FORWARDING for both caller lines. In this
way, the user can operate the system via the front keypad
almost as comfortably as with the PC Software.
If necessary this function can also be deactivated in the
configuration.
PC Control
The MAGIC TH2
plus
Windows PC Software is
included in the delivery. The software offers the oppor-
tunity to configure and control the system with a PC via
LAN. Both caller lines are displayed with all relevant
information. The caller levels can be adjusted manually if
desired. Screening information can be stored in a data-
base and will be immediately available when the system
receives a call and the calling number is transmitted.
